What did you do at your reloading bench today?

Sized, primed and expanded 101 41 mag cases (Starline put an extra in the bag ) and loaded four laddered loads using the Hornady 210 XTP and H110. I’m finding that loading handgun cartridges for rifles we are pretty limited in the powder charge range. Both the Speer and the Sierra manuals list rifle data for the 41 mag but the Hornady manual didn’t. I get out in the next day or two and make them go bang.

Ill be curious as to how you get along with H110. I have never had any luck with it. And you usually need a max charge of it to do any good.

Dang, you guys have me feeling bench guilt! Plan is to load up 100 .45 acp with some Universal and Unique. 230 gr LRN and plated. There!

Will do Al and Jim. I would like to use 2400 as you have suggested but I haven’t found any. I’ve been watching our local trader page like a hawk as several members have been offering powder to trade looking for what they are short of. Good way to get powder without paying the current stupid price if one could even find any. So far no go so for now it’s H110. When I last had a 41 mag and loaded for it I used 296 but decided not to use it as it’s my go to powder for 357 and I’m down to less than two pounds. Probably hit the range tomorrow as it’s supposed to get windy today with 25 mph gusts.

Man thats prime shooting weather for RR. He could probably shoot the center out of a target at 100 yards in those calm conditions.

Al, I've had pretty good luck with H110 and two different cast bullet weights. Got nearly 3 lbs. of 2400 for those pugnose 357's.
I don't think I have ever tried the 2400 in the 41.

17.5 or 18 grains of 2400 in mine gave me one nice hole at 50 yards Randy. I think I posted a target here I will see if I can find it.

Cast or jacketed bullets, AL?
I have some 210 gr hp, but I've never shot a jacketed bullet through mine since I bought it.

I don't have any issues with it at all and have a few that see a fair amount of each.
I've just haven't with the 41 yet, not to say that I won't.

Finally got my new XL750 press and reloading area all setup and cranked out a bit of 9mm to baptize it. Now to finally get some 357 loads for my BB developed.

Just finished loading 50, 45/70 Hornady JHP 300 gr, IMR 4198 40.5 gr. Starline brass, CCI primers. Still got 50 more to go,
then I'll be out of bullets. Got 100 on BO, but anybody's guess when that'll show up, if ever. I'm in good shape regardless.

Bought a high intensity disposable led light on Amazon for $30 to illuminate my bench. I now can read those fine lines on my vintage lyman 55 scale. Supposedly will last for thousands of hours. Really throws some serious illumination.

I put a couple of those I got from Costco above my bench. Man are they great! At the risk of sounding foolish I would like to say they are the difference between night and day. Now when I enter my room and hit the switch to the regular lights I feel like I’m entering a cave.

Got the 50 45/70 powdered, bullet seated, just need crimp, then done. Had to quit to watch Audie Murphy in Six Black Horses.
I have my priorities, LOL.
