I totally agree. At the time when the movie came out I had taken my youngest son to see it. He was really into it.
A couple of weeks later another FAA friend and I were hired to fly a Doctor down to Cape Hatteras to join his family
already there, and since it was a four seater AC I got my son out of school and took him along for the ride.
We had to overfly Norfolk and to our surprise the approach control cleared us direct, which overflew the Nimitz in dock at the time.
We flew right over it. Amazing. Then we got carried away and asked if we could shoot a touch and go on the deck.
Not just NO, HELL NO!

Needless to say my son was impressed.

Paraprosdokians


First time I heard about paraprosdokians, I liked them.


Paraprosdokians are figures of speech in which the latter


part of a sentence or phrase is surprising or unexpected


and is frequently humorous.

Took awhile to thaw out my fingers last weekend.

Well...dern....sounds like the week ahead is going to turn into pure old winter. Down to zero and maybe 6 or 8 inches of snow... old man winter has finally decided to hang out his sign of "open for business" ....guess i will hurry about and get some hay put out at my farm where the cows still are on grass, and get some more set out in the heifer field... the main herd is getting fed every day anyway but get those others sort-of set up so not so much to do on those couple of really fridge snowy days... got a running creek at my farm that will stay open for water.... the others have freeze resistant tanks off the well but if it gets below zero I will have to knock the ice out once a day to keep the tanks working...I got the last heifer that's close to calving up in the lot pen with the bulls where I can get her in the barn out of the weather somewhat if she should decide nasty cold is the best day to calve on..... we will see what the week brings..... im sure it will call for lots of coffee.

-11 this morning with cloudy skies and light wind. The wind is supposed go increase as the day wears on.
Folgers and Granola and a cookie. Just one cookie.
We'll be in the deep freeze for another week, and it's supposed to get even colder.
Started watching NASCAR last night and rooting against Bubba.
Daytona 500 on Sunday.
I know, I know, a lot of you hate it, but I'm an old man and need some entertainment.

ugly, 38 degree hazy morning with an icy feel in the air on the shore of Lake Conroe .... with a projected high of 45 and rain/thunderstorms slated to move through there is little doubt that its going to be a stay inside type of day .... Folgers pausing briefly in a Henry mug ..... breakfast will be along in a little while .... watching "El Dorado" made in 1967 staring John Wayne, Robert Mitchum and James Caan

Crashem up cars in Ft Worth. Sure glad Im not on the road anymore. 46 down here and not even going to make 50 today. Its showing in might get down to 28 down here this next Monday. Will see what happens in the next day or so as the weather forecast keeps changin If its 28 down here cant imagine whats in store for you Jim.

Well, as I keep telling Carol, the weather might be bad, but at least it's not November.
That would mean a really looooong Winter.

13 heading to 19 with what looks to be overcast skies. That explains why we didn’t get to the forecasted low of 5. I’m good with that. The winds will be picking up today pushing the wind chill temps 20-25 degrees below actual. Tonight again we are forecasted to get into the low single digits but hopefully that won’t happen.

Today is going to be one of those sad but happy days. I have a 1968 Mustang California Special I bought from the guy who restored it. For the last couple of weeks I have been working with a guy in New Zealand who is buying the car from me. Well, today is the day that the transport truck is supposed to show up and pick the car up. My road and driveway are too small to accommodate the truck so I’m meeting it up the road three miles. This is in a large open parking lot so I expect I will get to “enjoy” the wind chills. Brrrrrr.

the long range temp projections for our part of Texas have moderated a bit but starting Sunday night we have 5 consecutive nights with subfreezing temps ..... still calling for over an inch of snow on Monday with the lowest temp of 23 in the current string ...

beautiful Mustang .... it had to be expensive to get it shipped next door to down under

Was -40 at 5am this morning. Not fun doing chores. Weather supposed to warm up next week. Above zero.

Nice Mustang Hatch. Guy in New Zealand must want it bad. I cant imagine the cost to get it there. Always like the Mustangs still do. Had a 73 with the 351 Cleveland in it

He had a 69 Mach 1 with a four speed but due to recent knee surgery he could no longer operate the clutch so sold his Mach. This will be a replacement for that as my car is an auto. Not sure what his car had for a motor but in a picture he sent me it looked to be a big block. Between that and the four speed I’m sure his car was very powerful. My poor little 289 with an auto and 2.79 rear end is a total dog off the line. Goes forever on a tank of gas but absolute nothing off the line. I hope he isn’t too disappointed with the performance but he is aware of the mechanicals. Not sure on the transportation costs but I’m guessing 5-8K. Gets picked up here by a truck going to Oakland CA then on a container ship to NZ. Then are the import taxes and all other fees, an expensive proposition indeed. However I would expect the value to probably double down under with the limited available of classic cars and all the transportation and import costs paid.
