Christmas Decorations

Post by JEBar » Sat Nov 28, 2020 8:49 am

if you put up Christmas decorations when do you put them up and when do you take them down .... traditionally ours go up around Thanksgiving and take them down shortly after New Years .... my wife with the exuberant help of our soon to be 4 year old grandson put up our tree yesterday .... its amazing that she's been able to decorate all of these years without his help .. ..

That time span has usually been our decorating scheme over the years.

We had used the same basic guideline, decorations went up either Thanksgiving Evening or on Black Friday, since we refused to leave the house....
... Came down on New Years day.

Once the kids moved on and the house was empty, we split the lifetime of decorations between the four of them; and quit decorating... Since there was no one to see them.

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

For five years in a row I have put my leg lamp up the day after Thanksgiving and will take it down New Years Day.

Always used the Black Friday for putting up tree and some of the grandkids and decorate it, and take down after the Epiphany. Leg lamp up all year long in man cave!

We put the Christmas stuff up after Thanksgiving. I put up the snow tree this year and yes it pumps out snow pellets out the tree topper!
Of course the Leg Lamp is in the window for all to see.

We put up our Mr. Christmas Tree for the 40th time yesterday. We bought it at the Coast to Coast store in a small town for the our 1st Christmas as husband and wife. I guess it has paid for it self. Amazing how long a pipe cleaner tree will last if you treat it right. I miss a real tree form when I was a kid on the farm.

General guideline for us is up after Thanksgiving and down the day after New Year. We always buy real. We like the fragrance
We have very nice trees here in NC..
