I’ll be shooting 325gr Hornandy at 2000 FPS, in Iowa I plan on shooting 100 yards give or take 50, X model 45-70,
Should I zero at 50 yards , 100 or 200?

Re: Sighting in my Athlon 1x6x24
I usually do 50 yards and set it slightly high. I do this because its easier to see that bull at 50 yards.

Agree with Al. Easier at 50 yards.

If you want a zero at 150 you will need to check bullet drop for that round. Im not sure how high at 50 for a zero at 150 with that Hornady bullet. But from what I can find online if on at 100 it drops 10 inches at 200. If it was me Id go with 3 inches high at 50 and try a shot at 150 to see where you are at.

Again, agree with Al. Bullet drop will be the factor. That will be important to learn.
