Anyone else have this issue...

Post by IronWill » Sun Feb 16, 2020 9:08 am

....with the last round jamming?

I'm glad to see everyone have good luck with their Henrys but I guess I'm gonna be the one with the POS.

I bought this Classic model new several years ago and it has been a total pain since day one. The last round gets hung up every time. I've sent it back to Henry and came back a couple of weeks later with no explanation of anything being done. Figured it was fixed...wrong...same hangup on the last round.

I've had this thing apart trying to figure it and digging the stuck round out so many times I'm just done with it after tonight. I really wanted to like this gun....shoots well, feels well, fun to shoot....but then.....the dreaded last round!

Everything is fine with the gun except the last round issue. I'm very seasoned with firearms and have been thru countless....avid reloader and retired hunter....but this thing has me stumped.

The rifles been sitting in the back of the safe for a long time and decided to try her out again yesterday....welp, as expected jam last round. Just got finished taking it apart for the last time to dig the stuck round out....now just debating whether I even feel like putting it back together or just simply throw it in the trash!...no joke.

Good to know folks out there have functional Henrys but it looks like I won the lottery with this one.

Rant over!

I would cut and paste your comments above into an email to HRA and then follow up with a phone call to Anthony Imperato. From what we have seen, he will look after you.

Maybe don't load that last round and avoid the problem...ok, sometimes cowboy logic goes off the rails.

Best of luck with your Henry rifle, I am sure they will sort it out for you one way or another. Welcome from Alberta.

How does one not load a last round RR.

That's ok, I have questions also.
Like:
After the jam, What happens when another bullets is added to the magazine?

Does one bullet jam?
If you add bullets to the magazine before you reach the last one will it not jam ever?.

So many questions on this.

Thanks for the feedback fellas... The model is I guess called the Classic Lever Action 22...the one that's found at every WalMart. Not the Golden Boy 22.

https://www.henryusa.com/rifles/lever-action-22-rifle/

I've done the round count and not cycling the last round while shooting....only way I can try and enjoy it. Sucks when you have to give instructions while others want to shoot the gun too.

The last round always is stuck pointing 45 degrees nose down. I'm very surprised the jammed round has never fired off when cycled. Sometimes I can dig it out....other times like last night I have to take the gun apart to get the round out.

This gun has spent the last couple of years in the back of the safe because of this issue.... What is Henrys warranty?...lifetime?

Thanks again for the contact info...I'll reach out to them Monday.
