Orlando shooting
I didn't see any other threads, so I figured, tag I'm it.
But this is a bad one, over 100 people hit; first reported as a gay bay, now more of an eclectic place.
What one man with a gun (samaritan) could have done...........
Anyway, prayers sent. I'm proud of the way Orlando has handled this.
Nothing else to say

So Sad and just a dang shame. Whack jobs are everywhere.
Almost as bad is the politico's using it as a weapon against us lawful gun owners. I'll stop at that before I get in trouble.
As I understand it there was a good Sam with a gun. An off duty cop was working security. He tried to get him but the sicko grabbed some hostages and locked them in a bathroom with him. Then claimed he had a bomb and would blow them up. Said good Sam waited for SWAT at that point. Hard to safely return fire in a packed nightclub.

Re: Orlando shooting
I think it was Glenn Beck. Whoever it was said if you can carry a gun legally, do it.
Don't be political, be practical. If you carry a gun, know how to use it. You could save a lot of people. Be responsible and be prepared.

The problem is that Florida CCW law says you can't legally carry in a bar. Unfortunately that won't stop one who has murder in mind.

Re: Orlando shooting
Sad story for sure. A political minefield here in Canada when talk turns to guns. We have no 2A and lots of gun haters especially in the east.

Incidents such as this don't make it any easier for us who like guns.

Re: Orlando shooting
I was wondering if anybody was going to post about this. It's amazing how the left want's to take away our guns because of the Radical Islamist acts. We need more guns in the hands of law abiding citizens.
Out here in CA. I can't carry outside my home.....The politicians want me to be a VICTIM with nothing to defend myself with.

There was people killed 18 and 19 years old . Why are they allow in a bar ? ? .Travlin wrote:The problem is that Florida CCW law says you can't legally carry in a bar. Unfortunately that won't stop one who has murder in mind.

It seems the primary cause of the entire sick and evil event is going to be blamed on the Second amendment and not on the terrorist!
The pandering class and their buddies in the Media seem to think the gun he used forced him against his will to murder for Allah.
Call your representatives, and remind everyone you know...that, "Making good people helpless won't make bad people harmless."

Re: Orlando shooting
Good question. I just checked to be sure and the legal age in FL is 21. It looks like at least 3 people were under-aged.tx gunrunner wrote:There was people killed 18 and 19 years old . Re: Orlando shooting
Everyone is on their best behavior. I appreciate that.
All of us here know the elephant. Let's study what information comes from analysis of this tragedy and try to apply it to our lives and communities. All communities have different rules and laws. Abide by them all and do what you can, if you can.
Let's be practical and not political. Thank you all for your good behavior.

Practical?
This goes for ANY place that could be a scene of a crime. I don't do bars or clubs but you can be in any place and be vulnerable to a criminal or terrorist attack.
FLEE if you can and get help!
Play dead and hope that it works if you can't FLEE OR FIGHT BACK!
FIGHT BACK as one person, as a team of two people or as a group of people against ONE OR MORE criminals with full intent of murdering you and other people!
There is so much more to the story of SELF DEFENSE with or without using a conceal or open carry gun or knife depending on where you live and where you are working/visiting according to your individual state, county and city LAWS.
I would say more but it may be considered political even if it is not.
Prayers for the dead and wounded.
THIS was an attack on all of us here in this country.
CARRY A LEGAL KNIFE and obey your knife laws. Open or conceal carry. You could even carry a pocket knife.
LOOK FOR CHAIRS OR ANY OTHER THING TO ATTACK THE CRIMINAL THUG WHILE THE BAD GUY IS RELOADING.
STAY AWAY OR LEAVE A PLACE ASAP IF IT LOOKS LIKE SOME CRIMINAL CRAZY DUDE OR GANGS ARE WALKING INTO IT. THIS GOES FOR NICE STORES AND RESTAURANTS TO YOU NAME IT. CRIMINAL THUGS WOUND, KIDNAP, HURT, MURDER, SHOP and/or ROB AS DO GANG MEMBERS and even so called NICE and SAFE PLACES have them - city, small town, boonies and even in the wilderness.
Carry some item on you that can be used for a self defense tool even if it is not a gun or a knife. Some people choose to not carry or their laws prevent them from doing this especially in .gov buildings and in GUN FREE ZONES.
I carry a legal knife. I no longer own, shoot or carry handguns - conceal or open carry. I still shoot a rifle but I don't pack a rifle on my body here in town.
I still use a cane on and off due to my bum leg and foot. I consider my small knife and/or my CANE a tool to use for self defense if I should need them. I go to so called safe places but criminals and terrorists like all kinds of places including NICE AREAS.

You can put a ROLL OF COINS in a sock, stocking or in a plastic bag and keep that in your pocket.
A pen or pencil could be used for a self defense tool.
A flashlight.
A book.
Etc.

Re: Orlando shooting
If it's not a felony to have a concealed weapon in a place, my belief is go ahead and carry (CONCEALED). If it's a felony or serious crime don't go in the place. In Iowa violating the no weapons signs at stores and taverns is just a misdemeanor.
