I don't think it will affect it. I've only been inside a Walmart twice. The last time I was in the area of one of their super stores and out of curiosity went in to see what Henry rifles they were selling. All that store had in Henry's were .30-30 and .45-70.
Site seems to be OK. Load issue should be resolved now.

Re: Walmart feeling the heat!
Walmart ... an American retail company has decided to go the way of Dick' Sporting Goods and abandon the American values of keep and bear arms. I know that there are other vendors that can and will supply ammunition, but running to the local Walmart to pickup other necessities I always stop to pick up a box or two of 9mm or 38spl. This is not a rant just voicing my disappointment in the ill advised decision to stop pistol ammo sales. I am hoping that they will rescind this decision and uphold the American value of the 2nd amendment.

Re: Walmart feeling the heat!
I doubt it and some recent statements from Wal-Mart spokespeople clearly show a smooth 'sidestep' to Rationalize and justify their decision:I am hoping that they will rescind this decision and uphold the American value of the 2nd amendment
I could probably 'accept' this better if the terms 'short barreled' and 'long barrled' had not been used to describe a distinction in guns and the ammo they plan to drop and the ammo they will continue to sell. It's statements like this that suggest 'ignorance' on their part considering many rifles use pistol ammo regardless of their barrel length And conversely there is no ammo that is specifically designated as 'short' or 'Long' barreled.Walmart rejected claims by Second Amendment advocates that it was giving in to antigun lobbyists when it announced Tuesday that the super chain would discontinue handgun sales in Alaska and the sale of short-barrel rifle and handgun ammunition nationwide.
In a statement to Fox News, Walmart spokesman Randy Hargrove said the store was bringing its "ammunition offerings in line with our firearms assortment."
He added, "We're focusing on the hunters and sports shooting enthusiasts that we've always served."
Company CEO Doug McMillon wrote in a memo earlier Tuesday that Walmart will shift its focus toward long-barrel deer rifles and shotguns, supplying much of the ammunition they require and providing hunting and sporting accessories and apparel.
This is nothing more than a 'knee jerk' reaction and 'virtue signaling' with a 'coverup' as per the above statements.
Re: Walmart feeling the heat!
So, .22lr is not a deer hunting round, but is designed for a long gun, thus the "long-rifle" designation.
The rub though, is that the ubiquitous .22lr also chambers in many handguns.
Will they discontinue the .22's, because they work as "handgun ammo"?
What about the .410 bore?
It's shotgun ammo, but also fits some handguns.
Is .410 gone now too?
Somehow Wal-Mart has managed to concoct a policy that pisses off BOTH sides of the argument.
Anti's will say they didn't go far enough while 2A supporters will cry infringement of rights.
Virtue signaling aside, I think Wal-Mart just made a hugely stupid move.

Also, I heard this morning that Kroger will be following in WalMarts and Dicks footsteps. Sounds like a big box retail stampede is underway.

Re: Walmart Will Discontinue Selling Handgun Ammunition
This is spot on^^^! To the people who do buy ammo from Wal-Mart, W-M could care less. I'm only guessing here, but, I'd wager less than 1% of sales at W-M have anything to do firearms related items. This is why a lot of shooters/hunters handload. The writing is clearly on the wall. Best think about that.GunnyGene wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2019 9:55 pmWhile personally satisfying, boycotting Walmart or any other multi-billion dollar company will have zero impact on them. What the supporters of this kind of movement don't seem to realize is that ammo sales from OTHER sources are bound to skyrocket. Makes it pretty counter productive IMO.

Mark, I believe that to be true also. I have near me, a reloading shop that I use. This place has everything a handloader could want. And usually at on-line or better pricing. His business is going to improve dramatically I would think.

This is no doubt true however the supporters hardly concern themselves with this aspect. What the supporters of this kind of movement don't seem to realize is that ammo sales from OTHER sources are bound to skyrocket. Makes it pretty counter productive IMO.
With regard to Dick's I seem to recall at the time they (as well as supporters) were thinking their decision would actually IMPROVE business due to supporters' patronizing Dick's even more.
I don't know if that was the case however.

Re: Walmart feeling the heat!
We quit buying from our local walmarts years ago due to the terrible customer service, and worse management attitude when we tried to address the issue. We told them it was fine, thanks, have a nice day. Went home and canceled the Sam's Club membership as well since they were moving in the same direction. When we got a call, we told them that Amazon actually wanted our business.
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

I guess my concern, which should be theirs as well, is that all the crazies out there that have led us to where we are, will probably become even more heavily armed....again, counter productive.

Yep. This stampede is ripe for unintended consequences on both sides of the issue.

Re: Walmart feeling the heat!
Dick's, Walmart, Kroegers, etc. are looking into the future and considering their financial bottom lines, which is exactly what they should be doing as businesses. They see an emerging "problem" in the USA to which they do not want to be associated.
