68 degrees on its way to 86 with 92% humidity but a 0% chance of more rain .... South Dakota's storied wind is very much in evidence .... Henry mug pressed into service

54, foggy/cloudy. Maybe 72 later. Everything wet and soggy from last evenings exceptionally heavy rain thunder/lightening storms.

Temps in the 60's and been getting torrential rains almost every night. PERFECT!. It can do that all summer long as far as I am concerned.

Sure are interesting juxtaposed conditions for KCMO weather.
~Hot (low-mid 90s) and mostly dry until after the fourth.
~At the same time, there continue 3 NWS flood warnings at various points along the wide Missouri. Affected are my MO county and one KS county west of me that I fairly often travel through, with numerous road closures still happening.

Another Henry mug filled with my double mocha sounds good.

we awoke to 74 degrees and a partly cloudy sky .... that temp is higher than we've had on most of the days since we've been here .... they say its supposed to get up to 92 .... hopefully it will be a one day event .... walleye fishing on tap after lunch ....

Hot and humid today. We were about due. Cold and rainy Spring. Oh well, the pool is open.

OK, here's what's going on. Three of the last five days I spent at the Mayo Clinic. I have had two cat scans on different parts of my body, two ultra sounds on different parts of my body, numerous blood tests, two EKGs, and consultations with three docs. I guess this is the normal routine prior to any surgery.

I have been pronounced healthy enough for the Aunurism surgery which should take place on the 23rs. Because of the placement of the anurism I am eligible for the simple surgery that involves opening the arteries in both legs and inserting a stint like device that meets where the aorta branches off to each leg. They say over night in the hospital and I'll be good to go.

The other surgery involved opening you completely up and at least one and maybe two weeks in the hospital, and a three or four month recovery.

I'm glad I can get by with the simple surgery.

Daylight update: Actually a pair of the newer fiberoptic lines are what burned. So couple of houses aways further down the line are now without FIOS.

57 and mostly sunny. Maybe 79 later. Somewhat scary incident last night. Noticed a flame/burning wire dangling from the pole near the NE corner of the property. Turns out it was slow burning insulation from and old abandoned phone line. Further along it was discovered a branch had come down in the thunder storms a couple days ago partially shorting out the power line to the metal wire wrap on the old phone line. The phone line severed and did a slow insulation burn along the ground and up the line where it was sagging from the pole. Once the burn was off the ground/undergrowth it was readily visible. Anyway firedept and power company out at midnight took care of things. Power company removed the branch and the firedept put out the flame. Good thing the thunder storms brought with it waves of heavy rain soaking everything. This could have turned into a forest fire otherwise. Firedept also told us for the first time in 20yrs the fire danger here is higher than in eastern Oregon.

Morning All you Henry lovers.
Missed all the excitement, glad it wasn't any worse also Mags.

Got up early yesterday, took a day out of my vacation.
Went North of here and helped a couple buds pull out a back door.
Widen the opening and install another door.
So our friend can get his wheelchair out on the back porch.
