I wasn’t thinking of doing so. It’s not going to get a lot of use plus it’s a very big room with lots of air leaks.

Converted to propane properly, the stove burners should produce a pretty blue flame without any yellow or other colors. Clean burning propane produces heat and water. In small tight spaces the risk is sucking all the oxygen out of the air. You don't have that scenario with your big leaky building.

Back to the rock. I had been putting off pot hole repair, but we had enough drier weather, that I decided to get started on the repairs. Load of 3/4minus gravel, $575 for 15 ton, slightly less than a full dump truck. Couple years ago, about $300. Now that Knife River has bought out all or most of the local quarries, feels like we're getting gouged.

Prices here are a little less but not by much. I had just over 100 loads and negotiated a better price.Mags wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 8:23 pmBack to the rock. I bought this propane range/oven today. I won’t be able to pick it up till Monday. It will be the perfect garage/shop stove for cooking. It’s used and I didn’t pay much for it.
I get the 420 pound LP tank in about a month. I think 100 gallons will feed just this stove for a couple years.

Our 100 gal tank feeds a 6 burner kitchen stove used daily; and a Weber BBQ used 2-3 times a week. Since 2014 I've had it topped off twice. I assume most of your cooking is done in the house, so the 100 gal for that garage/shop stove I'd expect it to last well more than 5yrs.

Thanks for that information. I can buy a 250 gallon for almost the same price as a 100. The 100 I can put the right up against the building but the 250 needs to be placed further away which would place it in the road.Mags wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2025 9:51 pmOur 100 gal tank feeds a 6 burner kitchen stove used daily; and a Weber BBQ used 2-3 times a week. I’ll eventually hook a Blackstone griddle to it also but both might only be used 30 times a year.

At that rate you might never have to refill it.

Re: Garage and road project
I tried to plow the road up to the shop with no success. It was just to deep and I couldn’t find the road on the slope.
The snow piles are higher than the tractor.
With the stuff out of the garage I can park the Outback inside and the van fits in the upper shop. I haven’t driven it in three months. I start it every few weeks.

I walked up to the shop and started a fire.
The temperature was 22F inside and in an hour it was 52. Warm enough to watch a John Wayne movie.
