Mutant lambs

Post by 220 » Sat Oct 26, 2024 3:35 pm

My sheep are due to start lambing on the 28th using typical 147 day gestation period from when the rams were introduced.
I forgot to tell them and some have been jumping the gun and already dropping lambs.
A set of mutant twin lambs yesterday morning, not a bad mutation but one that a few people have been actively trying to breed. Ewe and ram lamb both born with extremely short tails, as short or shorter than they would typically be docked to.
I will almost certainly breed the ewe and will leave the ram intact let him grow out the assess his suitability as a sire

That last lamb seems to have developed a leak.
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can't do anymore with regret, I just look forward to the things I still can.
