Henry revolvers and .360 Buckhammer

I wish they would concentrate on making high quality rifles & shotguns. I applaud Henry for adding the side gates and also keeping the loading tube in their lever guns. I think they are stretching themselves too thin and compromising on quality. I would prefer less models with higher quality.

I have noticed a lot of quality issues among members here, especially the last couple of years.

My bad . The first photo is of the right side and there appears that the handgun has a sideplate like a Colt or a Smith. Also the crane is enclosed in the frame like a Charter Arms and not like a Colt or S&W.

Steve51, your post is spot on. I sure do like my two Henry rifles and have had no issues so far. But, it seems Henry is, as you say, stretching themselves too thin. A lot of "need to send it back again" posts to ignore. Hoping Henry can right the ship and get QC & QA back on track.

Henry usually does a very good job with outgoing cosmetic quality. Outgoing quality that affects functionality has been hit miss problem for more than 5 years.

They don't show the right side of the revolvers. That view would show us if the handgun has a sideplate like a Smith or a Colt or if it is a solid frame like a Ruger or Charter Arms revolver.

It's got a sideplate and the shape of it is very similar to a Smith. What it doesn't have are adjustable sights or an ejector rod shroud. The birdshead grip is big enough to probably be relatively comfortable unlike the Ruger which (In my opinion) was ridiculosly small.

It'll be interesting to look one over but I guess my Smiths have me spoiled.

The more I think about it Henry should have started with a good SA revolver platform as it matches better to what they sell.....lever rifles.
They could have brought out a nice 38/357 with round or octagonal barrel option and later expanded it to 44 and 45 Colt.
Pictured a nice blued barrel with CCH frame and a polished brass grip frame and some great looking walnut grips!

The DA revolver market is more slanted to metro carry use and is full of competition like a Smith 7 shot 357 on a L frame.

Did Henry send out a survey to it's customers on what they might like to see in a Henry revolver???

So since I have a nice variety of well known and performing 38/357 revolvers already I think I would pass for now on the new Henry revolver.

For that price one could buy a Ruger or S&W with adjustable sites. Unless the out the door price is reduced a lot I don't see a lot of sales of the new H.R.A. revolver.

Henry MSRP vs Retail has been roughly 15%, with On Sale price upwards 20% off MSRP. Sometimes better deals happen.
So maybe retail could be around $789. Still too high for this style and caliber pistol.

Mark, I remember a time when "most" items were sold at, Or below MSRP, mostly below.
