Large Lever Gap

I have been practicing a lot with my Frontier and the more I do the more the gap between the lever and the stock is bothering me. The gap is large but to make ti worse it is not parallel with the stock. Most of the pics I have seen of Henry rimfires have a proud gap so I am not sure if Henry can do anything for me though I am going to email them to find out. I am wondering if anybody has dealt with this problem and if so what was the fix.

Thanks

I had one like this and simply bent the lever. Don’t bend it installed as it will put too much pressure on the pin.

I would take it apart first to see what exactly the issue is.
Is it the lever or how it it connected. I'd also want to compare to another Frontier.
There are some complicated angels to consider.

Emailed Henry with the same pic and they said they would send me a new stock. I asked them to take another look at the pic. My son is a fabricater/welder and he suggested letting him cut and weld an extra piece on so that the lever would be closer to the stock and slightly larger. I will wait so see if Henry reconsiders the problem.

Don't quite understand the difference a new stock would make. :?:

I would think they should have offered to send you a new lever. Then you could just lay one over the other which would tell you immediately if the problem is elsewhere.
When I bought my BBS 357, there was about a one inch portion of the lever with surface rust. I sent them a picture of it, and they promptly sent me a new one.

I suspect that the stock replacement is more of a matter of fit and finish

I think some wires got crossed with their personnel. I sent the same pic that I have here so I will probably hear more from them tomorrow.

I have several extras and compared them. Most were very close but not all. In an earlier post I mentioned I bent one to close fully but I’ve also bent them back so the bolt could fully close. They are a soft steel and bend easy.

I would like to add the difference is not at the pin end but very close to where the loop begins. Also the thickness of the metal in the trigger area is different. So much difference that you can tell by just looking at them and don’t need to mike them.

Sounds like you don't need much leverage to bend them....sorry couldn't resist.

If you are strong enough you can bend them by hand. While we are talking levers on the H001 I would like to mention the locking arm of the lever. In this picture you can see the locking edge is rounded. This prevents the bolt from locking into battery fully.

Henry finally got back to me and they say I will have to send it in to them so they can fix it. None of my specific questions have been answered yet but if I can not get it back by early June I will shoot it the way it is because I have the first Lever Silhouette match on the 13th that I am not going to miss.
