No pink Cadillac, and definitely NOT in Portland I just have the Henry pink towel/rag like a lot of us.

as with many if not most things, the old beauty is in the eye of the beholder seems to be applicable .... I have a long time, good friend who can't stand color case hardened firearms .... to him their finish takes a way from the firearm's looks .... the American Eagle line is most certainly different .... not saying I would or wouldn't like them, just that I'd like to see one in person ....

For a long time I didn't care for CCH either. I thought it made the firearm look old and abused. But I've seen some very nice CCH patterns turn up that I kinda like.

I have tried twice to post this response...here's # 3. I sure would have enjoyed at least one positive, agreeable response. I have a few beautiful hardwood stocks on my arms...again, just saying, as a patriotic novelty, I personally think this is a cool rifle design. NO....I can't afford one right now, however, I find a couple responses insulting and condescending. To each their own...bye!!

While I was thinking through my comment, and writing it, you posted your #3 try, Mark. I think my thoughts answer your post to some extent.

Aside from liking it, getting the "American Eagle" to celebrate your patriotism is a darn good reason to have one.
Part of the reason Henry created this different unique rifle is because, from my perspective, Pres. Imperato along with his marketing team know that you and other patriots are around. Why not have a quality rifle, which American Patriots would enjoy adding to their Henry collections, and/or even shooting them?

Take my odd-ball "likes" for an example. Partly because of my Slavic heritage and the history behind it, I got my Russian 1874 S&W No. 3 .45LC Top Break Revolver. Although there are unusual components in the revolver's build, I also liked the looks. Looks? A hump-backed frame, lanyard ring, and triggerguard spur?!? Not many revolvers have such looks, and it is definitely not a high-demand S/A revolver. Top breaks are not in vogue. But it has become my favorite revolver to shoot, particular with the cool use of the top break auto-ejection system. Also love the frame-mounted miniscule rear notch iron sight. Again, not the usual looks.

One final comment about your choice of and liking the American Eagle. Price is always a consideration. Does really liking it override that consideration? Sometimes it does, as it did for me.

Mark, please do continue to report on Henry products. Be a shame if you didn't, given this is a Henry forum, as you say. Definitely not my kind of gun, but, then, my kind of gun wouldn't win any popularity contest, either.
