Differences in youth .22 and small game carbine??? Other than the large loop lever...which you can buy and put on the youth gun....what are the differences? Looks like same barrel length and weight.....I been thinking of putting the large loop lever on my youth gun cause I think the bigger loop looks nice ....

The barrel and stock are different. The SGC has a 17” barrel and a stock with a 14” pull while the Youth barrel is 16.125” and the length of pull is 13”. This makes the SGC 33.75” long while the Youth measures in at 33” even.
The SGC has an octagon barrel making the rifle weigh 5.75 pounds while the Youth barrel is round and the rifle weights 4.5 pounds.

I really LOVE my Golden Boy Youth! The weight is perfect for hefting with my slowly healing shoulder injury, and the 13" LOP is great, although I did add a butt cuff with 1/2" foam padding to extend it to 13 1/2", not needed to mitigate recoil. I also added a Skinner peep sight, and she (well, us!) group inside an inch at 50 yards! Also, very easy to carry.
I posted my oddesy a while back at
http://henryrifleforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=5259 that may help you choose. Embedded in the first line is a link to my first post where I discussed my reasons for choosing the Youth model.
I did a lot of work to her, none necessary, except for my personal pleasure and the "look" I was after.
Great shooter!

Thanks! Took the photo out at the BLM range an the way to Diablo Canyon, near Santa Fe, New Mexico. Got my favorite "big hat" at Prescott Trading Company, on a vacation to Arizona. Great store for all western fans and re-enactors. I made a new hat band to match my Cattleman 22 LR 12 shot revolver rig.

The other big difference is that the SGC comes standard with a rear Peep sight, which is huge plus for many shooters.
