I wish you well on your .17-had one once and was disappointed with it. A 2" group was the best it would do at 100yds.

I can't speak on the accuracy of the Varmint Express rifle, but I do have a Savage .17HMR bolt gun, and it works well. In general, this caliber is flat-flying and accurate as long as the wind isn't bad. The 17gr polymer tipped rounds fragment explosively and will blow a tree rat in half at anything out to 100 yards or so. If you are into eating squirrel or rabbit...head shots only. Anything else destroys too much meat. If you use it for pest control, it works great. If you're a plinker like me, it is a really fun round to shoot. Whatever the use, it should prove entertaining. Nice choice, and have fun.
