Evil Roy 22
Evil Roy 22
Right now I have a Big Boy in 45 Colt and am considering getting a Evil Roy to go with it. I assume it is a nicely made as the Big Boy. Has anybody here shot on lately and how was it? The only 22 rifles I have right now are Ruger 10/22s so I really don't have something to compare it to.

For what it's worth - we've got three 10/22's but after we bought a Golden Boy and a Small Game Carbine, we almost always grab the Henrys when we go out for 22 plinking - just seems more fun with a nice lever gun...
Re: Evil Roy 22
You wont be sorry with the Evil Roy. I have two of Henrys levers in 22 and I have other semi auto 22's. Like one other poster stated when I take out a 22 its always the lever there just more fun. I have the Monument Valley and the same gun in a blue model. The Golden Boy is also a very nice gun but the drop in the stock just doesnt fit me. Al

I went to my LGS today and paid for my Evil Roy 22LR.
Now all I have to do is wait 10 days to pick it up. California you know

Re: Evil Roy 22
That 10 day wait is a cooling off period so don't shoot anyone with the new gun . I guess they don't think you would shoot some else with a different gun you have already in your house like your 10-22 you have already . This law is so funny and stupid .RudyN wrote:I went to my LGS today and paid for my Evil Roy 22LR.Now all I have to do is wait 10 days to pick it up. California you know

Re: Evil Roy 22
Congratulations on your Evil Roy. I recently purchased one in 22LR. I cleaned and lubed it but still haven't been able to get to the range. I'm just chomping at the bit to shoot that rifle!!! I haven't even shot it but am already thinking of another lever action ... LOL.
Re: Evil Roy 22

Re: Evil Roy 22
I am already thinking of a third Henry. I will have to save up some money though as I want the 1860 model and it is a few bucks.

Re: Evil Roy 22
I was going to ask about size/fit of the rifle. I really like the evil roy but no one carries one for me to try out. I am 6'5 and wonder if it will be to same for me.
Re: Evil Roy 22
I am 5'8" and it felt ok to me, however I don't have it home yet (10 day wait in California) to give it a real tryout.

Re: Evil Roy 22
Yup, I think it's a law that you can't have just one. I quote its to my husband all the time.
Re: Evil Roy 22
I brought home my Evil Roy today, now all I have to do is clean it up, lube it and get to my local range if it ever stops raining.

Re: Evil Roy 22
I have the small game carbine and I would rather shoot it than the custom 10/22 I built. Well...I can put my sparrow on the 10/22 for some quiet time.

Re: Evil Roy 22
I just looked at an Evil Roy at the local Walmart. Nice looking gun but it's priced about $125 more than the basic Henry .22 lever action.
