Checked Buds and a few other's. Although their prices are lower, between transfer & NCIC fee's & local taxes it comes out about the same.
Thanks for the input.

Walmart's here in NJ. don't sell guns or ammo. This is not a very gun friendly sate.

I was heading up to Allentown, Pa. today and I go right past Cabela's on route 78. I had this gift card that was burning a hole in my pocket so I pulled in at 9:00 just as they were opening. They have a gun sale on now, of course you have to take a number at the gun counter if you want to buy one due to a lot of customers. And then, after you choose your gun, fill out the forum, your wait my be quite a while until they run the check and call you up to pay. Not like my LGS. I didn't get out until 11:00. I had wanted another Heritage Rough Rider .22 revolver with the shorter barrel than my other one. Sorry if I strayed from the topic. There was a guy there buying a Golden Boy and we discussed Henry rifles for a while. He asked me about the accuracy, customer service etc. Cabela's has them for $399 on sale now. I told him how mine is the most accurate of my four .22's. When I bought mine about six years ago, they were selling for $380 and I got it on sale for $340. The brass barrel band was an option back then. He seemed really happy with his purchase. I believe their regular price was $450.

Sweet HENRY Golden Boy Rifles~~~

Post by Catherine » Fri Apr 01, 2016 12:39 am

Henry Golden Boy rifles are great rifles in 22lr and 22wmr. I have not checked the stores around here for the latest prices. (Our locally owned gun stores or the big box stores.)

I owned a sweet Henry large loop carbine in 22lr for several years too. That was a tack driver too.

WE downsized our firearms over the years as some of you already know.

I have owned several SWEET 22lr rifles and other firearms in the past.

I know that some people think that this is heresy to say this but I PREFER the HENRY Golden Boy rifles more than my former 2 SWEET, tack driving, Made in CT, MARLIN Golden 39A rifles. I sold one and gave one to my husband. He sold that one later on too. The new owners are very happy with the MARLIN rifles.

My husband shot his one older bolt action 22lr rifle more so he stuck with that one. It is an all weather stock rifle and it does not have a wood stock. He still owns it. He sold the matching rifle in in the SAME MODEL in 22wmr years ago. But he kept the 22lr one.

I PREFER the HENRY Golden Boy rifles more that the other SWEET two former rifles (22lr) that I bought back east and brought out west with me too. I sold them too. They were in a Browning BL 22 - higher end walnut with a blued scrolled receiver and in a Winchester 94-22. I am not knocking them since they were very NICE RIFLES and tack drivers but I LIKE the HENRY RIFLES MORE!

Now, don't get me wrong here. BOTH Made in CT Marlin Golden 39A rifles were sweet tack driving rifles. The Browning BL 22 and the Winchester 94-22 were top notch too. They were beautiful rifles too.

My husband shoots the HENRY rifles too. He is impressed with them. I still shoot them more than he does AND I officially 'gave them' to him. I am no longer a high volume shooter but one if not two HENRY rifles go to the range when I go to the range with him. The sweet Savage single shot, bolt action rifle goes with us but not on every single trip.

I have nothing but PRAISE when it comes to the HENRY Golden Boy rifles.

Two of our friends on the other side of Montana have matching Golden Boy rifles and they love shooting their HENRY rifles too. In fact, the one older man mainly shoots 22lr due to HIS arthritis too. And that man is an older, Nam Veteran, a Marine, and several years older than me. He started to mainly shoot RF more years ago compared to me but he still shoots. They own a few other HENRY rifles too.

Good shooting to all of you!

With the high volume of rain and windy conditions down here since spring began or perhaps sometime before that, it has been tough to get to the outdoor shooting range and sight in my GB H400 with the scope. As posted on the older forum site on an earlier date I had a bit of trouble getting to look through the mounted scope even with the scope mount that Henry supplies for the GB. However all that is in the past now and all I need to do is find a weekend date that I can get to the outdoor range and finally sight in the GB.

Dutch, I called Cabela's in Del. yesterday to see if I could buy a rifle there being I live in NJ. No problem as long as I have a NJ Fire arms ID card.
They only had 1 Golden Boy in stock and the price was $449.00. Chances of me driving there and still being in stock are very very slim.
Next try is Davidsons Gallery of Guns. Used them 3 other times and never a problem
