A little unplanned upgrade this morning. Site is working ok it seems.
Small Game Carbine
Small Game Carbine
Wonderful Carbine, the handling and point ability is great! Henry has a real winner on this as far. as I'm concerned. Now for the down side. The sight in was 5" high and 4"right. The factory front sight was .450 in height. Called Skinner and they recommended .525 and I was sent a Guide series Brass. I installed and sighted in. Happy days unless your a squirrel ! Mine likes 36grhp and 40grhp from Winchester.

Re: Small Game Carbine
The only problem I had was the carbine was shooting high. I called Skinner and they were vary good to deal with. I told them the rifle was shooting high. The carbine comes with .450 I put an .525 guide brass front sight on and a little trimming now dead on at 25yds. Next time I will do the partridge for looks not that the guide series is bad just personal preference. The other problem was front sight haze. The sight comes with .096 aperture. I tried the Ghost ring and I couldn't see that. I had them send me an.125 and .155 aperture and all is well except for the chipmunks they aren't talking much! Its really quiet! I can hear the grass grow now!

Only Henry 22lr. I have is the Evil Roy which I believe is the SGC. Great rifle and like it very much. I have the Marbles Bullseye Sight on mine with a taller front sight. Works great.

The Evil Roy has a shorter LOP at 13". The SGC has a 14" LOP.jstanfield103 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 7:32 amOnly Henry 22lr. I have is the Evil Roy which I believe is the SGC. Great rifle and like it very much. I have the Marbles Bullseye Sight on mine with a taller front sight. Works great.
The Evil Roy was designed to appeal to children and adults alike. Though discontinued, it is a very nice rifle.

Yes correct another reason I bought the Evil Roy, LOP. I just forgot about that point. Thanks for the reminder.

Re: Small Game Carbine
Other than finding a pre-owned Evil Roy, you can sorta make one DIY in .22 S/L/LR.
Buy a Youth Silver .22 H001SY and replace the lever with a large loop HL2214L. You'll have what looks like and Evil Roy without the Evil Roy(R) in the stock.
LOP: 13"; BL 17".

Re: Small Game Carbine
I like everything about the Eval Roy Except the name on the stock. I often wondered if they could have accomplished the name in another way on the carbine. Never thought of buying the youth model that's a really good suggestion.

Re: Small Game Carbine
I made something similar years ago before Henry ever came out with the ER.
I stripped the reciever cover and barrel band, but instead of leaving it shiny. I let mine tarnish then clear coated it. Also stripped the factory finish on the stocks and finished them with boiled linseed oil.
A few years leter I found an old Winchester saddle ring and d&t'd the reciever and installed it.
