The orange thingy came off the rod and now stuck in the tube. Also, while clearing the rifle the action is now stuck open. It is my favorite .22. What to do, short of sending to Mr. Henry?

Re: loading tube probs
The orange thingy is a follower and shouldn’t be stuck very hard. I’m thinking gently insert a straight coat hanger and it should easily come out. The H001 is easy to take apart and put Bach together to clear the jam.

agree
Re: loading tube probs
No luck with cleaning rod (not hanger). Not sure what I was supposed to do with it other than sticking it down the tube. Will work on clearing the jam when it gets warmer and I can work on the porch. Looked at a maintenance video on Henry's web site . Doesn't look to complicated. What's the worst could Happen? If I can't put it back together I will send it to Henry and yell for help.

Re: loading tube probs
If not sure of your skills with it, call Henry and see what they tell you. Should be an easy fix and sounds like if the follower came out of the tube than it needs replaced anyway. They will have to send you a new follower or tube. I would just call them and let them tell you what to do. Me I would just fix it myself. Get the new parts through Henry warranty. They are very easy to deal with.

Re: loading tube probs
Pull the tang screw and remove the butt stock, then remove the receiver cover screws and cover.
You can then see the end of the magazine tube, then with a coat hanger or some other stiff wire you may/should be able to push the tip back out.
Might as well as clean the area up before reinstalling.
To get the bolt back in you will have to cock the hammer for it to fit back properly.
Slide the cover back on and reinstall screws, slide the butt stock back and replace that screw.
