Re: red dot
Teddy, there have been red dots with a base to fit 3/8" groove (that's what your Henry has), but those are now pretty scarce. These days, the vast majority of red dots are designed to attach to a weaver/pica-tinny base. The good news is that there is a simple solution. All you need is a 3/8th/11mm to weaver/pic-atinny adapter or two, depending on how long that base is on the tru globe. Lots of makes, but you can get one right from https://www.truglo.com/3-8-in-to-picati ... g-adapter/ Lots of other makes, though.
The only disadvantage of using such an adapter is that it raises the height of the red dot a bit. Only an issue if you want to use a tight cheek weld.
