I totally agree with the concept of a stainless/synthetic rifle, especially here on the "Wet Side" of the Cascade Mtns where I live. It's not too "nostalgic" of a look, but fairly functional for a damp environment.

Having said that, a stainless/synthetic combo doesn't mean that you don't have to wipe it down, oil, it, and maintain it after a wet hunt. My "boat paddle" stocked Ruger stainless/synthetic model 77 MkII still has issues with surface rust in the bedding areas underneath the action if I don't pull it apart and dry it/oil it after these damp excursions.......

Good day all! The past few years I have come to enjoy the benefits of stainless or corrosion resistant firearms. Judging by the number of shooters who use their 22's on trap lines or small game hunting or as 'truck' guns, I would think Henry would offer an all weather Rimfire. It would be more expensive but there might be a market for it. What say you?
After thinking about this again, I think it's a good idea. I'm getting the feeling lately that rimfires are becoming more popular. I would consider purchasing one.

If Henry makes it, I'd surely give it the nod.

In the mean time, there is always the option to buy a used standard model on the cheap, and refinish with cerakote on the metal. It stands up to weather quite well. One night, while I was ogling the all-weather series on the Henry site, my wife stepped in and said she really liked the look and "it's a shame they don't make a 22".
I had recently picked up a little Browning BL-22 that was in need of some love, and her comment gave me an idea. Here's what I came up with...

X2 on the Great looks, Roddy!!!

I did nearly the same thing with my little Ruger LCP Max carry pistol. After only about 3-4 months of daily carry and practice dry draws and laser firing, the slide had some perspiration induced surface rust and bluing worn off from the practice draws. A $40 trip to the local Cerakoting place was just what that little gun needed. The new matte stainless colored slide is holding up really well, and looks better, I think. Cerakoting would seem a really viable option for an all weather type rifle, I think. I'm going to get my son's Savage 110 in .270 Win. cerakoated for his Christmas present.
