All weather Rimfire?
All weather Rimfire?
Good day all! The past few years I have come to enjoy the benefits of stainless or corrosion resistant firearms. Judging by the number of shooters who use their 22's on trap lines or small game hunting or as 'truck' guns, I would think Henry would offer an all weather Rimfire. It would be more expensive but there might be a market for it. What say you?

Doesn't seem to be much interest. Mention it to Henry, never know.

Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.

I guess most folks just have no interest in such a rifle. I would have thought otherwise....oh well!

Rimfire made in stainless or anything else all weather might be too expensive in Henry's eye. Might be way over their current offerings and not sell. I would think their current receivers and covers would be partially all weather, but not sure so it would have to be different barrel and magazine tube only. I don't know though.

I like the Idea as long as they make it out of good stainless. I had a Ruger takedown 1022 that rusted fast. I took the forearm off after owning it for six months and the rust was so bad it had deep pits.

The All Weather Henry rifles are not stainless. It is hard chrome plated steel and is given a subdued satin finnish. I would think that it would not be overly expensive to manufacture since it is NOT stainless.

That’s good information to know. Hard chrome is pretty tough. I have 4 1911s and two CZ clones in hard chrome. Doesn’t stainless steel have chrome and nickel in it?

Chrome consists completely of chromium. Stainless steel consists of mostly Iron and Carbon with the addition of chromium, nickel and other elements. It is then heat treated....so yes.
