I've been shooting my H001 with a scope for a week or two now. This is a complete departure from me, as I'm an iron sights guy. Still, surprisingly I'm kind of enjoying this, and learning a lot as I go.
I bought some Eley ammo the other day, primarily to use in a target pistol. I'm wondering, though, would my Henry benefit from using target ammo?

Re: Will H001 Benefit From Match Ammo?
Yes you will benefit but not as much as if you shot the same ammo in a CZ. I have found that standard velocity is much better than high or super. Use this as a gauge in your Henry, benchrest at 50 yards: high velocity 40 grain LRN - 3" group, standard velocity 40 grain LRM - 2" group, match grade like your Eley, Wolf, Norma or RWS you might get 1" groups. The same match ammo in a CZ might give you 1/2" groups.
Hope this helps.

Re: Will H001 Benefit From Match Ammo?
I notice a big difference in group sizes between bulk ammo and good (CCI) standard velocity ammo in my H001. I notice a much smaller difference, but a difference nonetheless, between SV and Minimags. And yes, the SV groups are smaller of the two. I would think match ammo would be even better, but have no experience with it.
