When hammers still had wooden handles I would drill a shallow hole about one half inch in diameter in the end of the handle opposite the head.Light a candle and let it drip into the whole until it is flush with the end. When it is time to drive a finish nail into some Maple,Oak or hard Pine, stick the pointed end of the nail into the wax and proceed to drive it.

I shoot carpenter bees with a 38 special. Loaded with 2 grs of Bullseye. A cardboard wad. Fill the case with #9-10 or #12 shot with over wad of cardboard.markiver54 wrote: ↑Fri May 27, 2022 8:53 pm
Yes, especially for those Carpenter Bees I've been at war with!!
Love shooting them flying and this load won't damage the tin when I shoot them under my shed.
