Magazine tube polishing

Post by leverjc » Thu Mar 03, 2022 4:45 pm

The magazine tube on my Frontier is rough and looks unfinished compared to the barrel. I am thinking of sanding down to about a 600 grit finish but do not know if the steel will accept being cold blued. I know some steels blue better than others. Has anybody done this, any information would be helpful.

I have not, but just remove the wood and try a small area inside where it is hidden. If that turns out good, proceed. Post before and after pictures please.

John, sounds like a good plan. I see what I can get done tomorrow.
