I bought my Henry a week or so back my son just bought one a few days ago they both look like this at the front sight. I have seen several that come with the barrel band front sight what is the difference between these models. Did Henry just switch over or is it something else.

I have an older model H001 classic .22. It does have the barrel band front sight.
The new Henry catalog on their website shows their classic .22 rifle and carbine with a front sight like the one in your picture. The Henry .17 rifle also has a front sight like the one in your picture.
So, evidently, Henry has changed their design on these 3 rifle models.
