Curiouser & curiouser
There 107 bids on that Golden Boy that’s crazy!
Maybe it was that large loop lever that raised price from MSRP by $850

Part of this is that GB has nationwide exposure, and many first timers are not aware of local gun forums that have a classified section and far lower prices for members for private sales of both used and new guns (and ammo). These are normally FTF transfers, so no shipping or sales taxes, no NICS or other involvement by the State. I don't know about other States, but there's always some activity on our MS forum. Somebody wanting to sell, buy, or trade every day. The forum itself doesn't get involved, they just provide a platform for private advertising (not commercial).

For example here's one that was posted for sale yesterday:

"$800. American tactical AR-pistol chambered in 223/5.56. Barrel length is 10.5”. Optic is a holoson hs510c with a quick detach. Comes with 6 pmags"

Gunny yes we have a local one also TGO, but I don't visit it as much as I did years ago.
And I even bought a pistol from a member a pretty good while back.
I agree that "some" of it is new to the gun world people , but then some of it is just well crazy.

Speaking of crazy, about 2 weeks ago, a member on the local forum was facilitating a estate sale collection for a friends widow. Had about 50 guns (mostly older in very good condition milsurps) listed. I think he's sold every one of them since. :)

Just picked up a 20 gauge o/u and two boxes of shells at $14.99 each, Gun was less than msrp. Actually one of the box of shells was free. I was just lucky.

I just checked my 12 ga supply. I have 4 boxes of 25 marked $4.99. Probably older than dirt. Thinking those days are long gone!
