I don't think there ever was a shortage of rimfire ammo, just an excess of buyers. This is important because there is tons of ammo out there. You just need to know how to find it.

Right now I can find rimfire ammo everywhere except Walmart. The odd thing is that prices are very close to what Walmart charges. The people behind the counter at Walmart say they get rimfire ammo in but it is snapped up as soon as it hits the shelves.

I thought it was odd that the closest Walmart to me rarely has 22s and 20 miles away they are loaded w/em,
both semi rural areas too ???

That is an interesting way to look at it. Considering there were lines of folks buying up all of the ammo at walmart each morning about a year ago that makes sense. Ammo flippers trying to make a buck and others scared trying to hoard enough for the next 10 years....

When the wives have the yard sales after those 22 hoarders catch the "big bus" there will be some real bargains.

I hope the resellers are sitting on a mountain of thunderturds.

As far as the .22lr shortage, it's over as far as I'm concerned. Walmart is not in the equation.

Now .22 WMR

Went up to Gandermountain today. I got a few CCI SV last week, but nothing of interest this morning...........

Go across the street, and Academy has CCI MM HP 36g "which I swore to myself I wouldn't buy any more" for $7.99.
I had a gift card with $12 left on it so I left with a clear conscience.

On my way home, did my weekly shopping at Walmart in Sanford.

Don't know why, but I went by shooting isle, and (Phil Rizzuto) "Holy Cow" > they are packed with 22lr :D

Bought one 100pk of the Winchester hyper velocity (the red plastic pack) HPs.

No .22 WMR, but a disgusting amount of .17 calibre.

Anyway, it's the first time I've seen 22 in Walmart in years.
