Yes it is more and there is a few reasons for the extra cost. Octogon barrel silver receiver and the large loop lever all add to the cost. The frontier models are also more because of that octogon barrel. Al

I just bought an Evil Roy about 2 weeks ago and took it out shoot. What a blast. I wanted to add something cheap to shoot to my small family of guns, and the Henry was top of the list. Then I saw the Evil Roy and fell in love. It is the perfect size and the perfect shooter. No recoil, low noise, cheap ammo, and it's a Henry. What else could you ask for?

just my 2 cents, i have a evil roy 22 mag, and it was a great rifle to being with, just a great plinker, but i did find the butt stock to be a bit short and awkward, im 6'0. i contacted henry and bought a butt stock from the regular rimfire series and what a difference that 1 in made. ok it doesnt say evil roy but she is a fine shooter and she is the one im going to introduce the wife to rifles with. i think the butt stock was 50.00 with shipping but dont quote me,

so if she feels a bit short henry has a inexpensive fix. and i kept the evil roy stock wrapped up in the box on the shelf

attempting to add a cpl pics, ones shows the approximate butt stock difference , the other is a m1 repro soft case from amazon that works great with the evil roy and even fit my bb 356 16.5 barrel very well

Don't get me wrong, the GB22LR is a great rifle, if all you want is open sights or peeps. My eyes changed enough that seeing the front sight is hard. Readers don't help (you can see the front sight, but your target blurs badly). The way the GB stock is designed, it's hard to scope properly and get a solid, comfortable cheek weld. It's not impossible, but difficult. So I went with an RDS, nice for plinking, not so much for accuracy at distance.

The Evil Roy is scope-capable out of the box. Shorter barrel, lighter. It would have been a better for for me.

Understood. Yes, sights are quite an important "guide" as to what rifle to get, or how to make needed mods. I didn't know that the ER is better for scope mounting versus the GB. Learned something new...thanks.

Get that ER higher on your list of next Henrys! ;) Best with your GB, too.

One thing about the Golden Boy while I love that rifle even trying to get a cheek weld for me with iron sights was nearly impossible. The drop in the stock is to much for me. Still love the Small Game carbine. Best one in the line up if you ask me. Al

Me either. I think it makes it look cheap.

If the target if blurring badly, you're using glasses with too much magnification. I sometimes will go as low as 1.0 which keeps everything within 50 yds pretty clear, it just clears up the sights a little bit. 1.75 I find best for the pistol up to 30 yds..............

My SSP TopFocals are 1.25. I don't think 1.00 would be all that different.

+1 on the SGC, we have the .22 and .22 mag version, our favorites to shoot 9 times out 10.
