I changed the scope on my Frontier that has the black stripped off the receiver to a silver finish scope. I don't know if I like it enough to leave it on but it does work well and now it is sighted in I will try it for a while. I didn't have any silver rings but they usually never match the scopes silver color any way. It is a 4X Nikon rim fire model and the other rifle I had it on always worked well with it. Here it is with the black finished scope I took off.

Silver scope doesn't match the silver on the receiver. I honestly feel the black scope looks better.

I have never been a fan of a silver scope on a rifle. On a hand gun though I kind of like them.

As far as mounting a silver scope on a rifle, I have always thought that they look best on a rifle with a stainless barrel and receiver.

Looks like my fellow members feel the same as I do. This scope really works well so I will put it on a camo painted 22 and paint that ugly thing camo like the rifle. Well maybe since it is already mounted and working so I well I could just paint the Henry.

You wouldn't dare paint that Henry camo!!
I have always like what you did with that and also agree that it looks better with the black scope.

I think it looks great either way, but I do prefer the black scope.

Back to black with the scope and going to leave it that way. I may look for lower rings but then I will have to put the hammer spur back on. Better now?

Looks good. You could always put the silver one on my SS Ruger Blackhawk!

Squatch you can have that silver scope for your Blackhawk. With that rifle scope on a hand gun I accept no responsibility for cut eye brows.

There is a good chance by the end of the day that silver scope won't be silver any longer. It is to good of a scope to not put to use because of that lousy silver finish. I got this scope at a show at McConnellsburg, Pa. for $30 NIB because the guy couldn't get rid of it being silver and it is a factory rim fire model so I did not even need to adjust the parallax for a 22. It also has a very fine duplex style reticle that works fine in the woods or on targets.

Silver scopes on silver guns look fine to my eye; if you use silver mounts.
