Yes-Another New Homesteader

Post by krunchnik » Tue Aug 08, 2023 8:57 pm

Absolutely had a Henry monkey on my back since first seeing the Homesteader preview-
Almost a year later and I finally found one-
Am going to try and get some range time very soon-
Mounted a Nikon 2x7 P223 scope-will see how well it shoots-

I’ve tried one at the range and had feeding issues. What mags do you use and any issues?

Keep me posted, I'd like to get one myself. The one I shot was a bear to get the first round to load properly but the following rounds loaded with zero issues. That rifle was a ranger rental with Henry mags, it was quite filthy so I am guessing that is the problem.

8/10/2023 I ran 50 rounds of Magtech 115gr FMJ and 30 rounds of Winchester SXZ 115gr HP and all 80 rounds went without a glitch from the rifle-
Accuracy is on par with a 9mm carbine-50 yard group was on average 2 inches but would have been better except for my poor shooting-
I used 1-10 round Mag Pul-1 15 round Mag pul and 1 15-Glock 19 magazine-
I am keeping this one that's for sure-
I have 1 small problem the finish is chipping on the pistol grip portion-I have a warranty letter into Henry-I really don't want to send a brand new rifle off for something so simple-
