The Homesteader is all walnut

I happened to see in a thread about the Homesteader, that someone said that the forend was plastic. It struck me as odd, so I sent an email to Daniel Clayton-Luce at Henry.

His response was very quick. The forend is walnut. It is hollow, according to him.

I'm glad to hear this from Henry. I wanted to put it here for everyone.

Thanks Dan.

P.S. He said that .45 acp has been the most requested caliber. I had added my request with the stock question.

Thank you Dave!
I don't think I'll be lucky enough to ever own one, but that is nice to know. I couldn't imagine Henry mixing plastic and walnut. 🙄

Think that plastic fore-end was made in reference to an old Marlin.

Good to hear and thanks Dave for clearing that up. For what Henry is asking for this gun I would think it should be wood.

I,m the original poster and should have contacted Henry before mouthing off, my bad! It is in fact walnut but sadly, to me at least it feel like plastic (when compared to the butt stock which as usual for Henry is superb
