Issue with new Homesteader

Post by NHhiker » Sun Feb 19, 2023 11:30 am

Received my new rifle. When I took it out of the box I could hear something moving around in the receiver. While swapping out the magwells, I removed the stock and a small piece of broken metal fell out. Anyone have any idea what it is?

Welcome to the forum. I have found all sorts of things In Henry's and other new guns but I can't tell you what that broke off of. I would disassemble the gun and see if it has a broken part. Give us a range report when you get it running.

Did you try identifying the part against the part break down in the back of the owners manual?
I advise not shooting it until you have a discussion with Henry Warranty Service or one of the customer service reps

first, welcome to our community, delighted to have you join us .... I agree with the recommendation that you contact Henry's customer service immediately and shouldn't fire it until they repair it or give the OK .... they don't tend to include parts that are broken .. ;) .. please keep us updated .... be sure to follow the link below to where you may add your Henry to our community's total

Cannot tell how large that part is without a prop to compare it to. Not that it will help much, but just curious. Maybe it's not part of the rifle itself, but something that got caught up in manufacturing?...maybe. Just thinking of possibilities.
BTW, welcome to the forum and congrats on your new Carbine.

Welcome to the forum. I can't tell you what that piece is from, but I would definitely get a hold of Henry tomorrow. I to am looking for the homesteader. Can I ask where you purchased yours at?

Hello everyone. Thank you for all of the advice. Upon closer examination, I discovered the broken piece is part of the Bolt Catch Lever. I have sent a request to Henry for their help in getting a new part

Well, so much for quality control.
Dad, always told me you never buy the first of ANY new Anything.
Need to make sure they have all the bugs worked out.
