The first KC Get-Together is officially over! I just got home about an hour ago from another fun day. Both Jims are heading out of KC tomorrow morning (Friday) toward their home states (Safe travel, Fellows. Good to meet ya and shoot some together!).

So expect more photos, campfire yarns (including tall tales), and rifle range reports before too long. The range time was quite good today, and quite a bit of grinning all around.

Easy to say that the KC Get-Together was a Midwest success!

what a day .... what one heck of a day .... we met once again at the Lake City Range at noon .... today's shooting was dedicated to rifle shooting .... really good collection of rifles available .... 357 (lever and single shot), 44 Mag, 45-70, 300 WBY Mag, 223, 308 and I'm sure I've left out some .... I was most impressed with Evan's Long Ranger 308 .... to say that I'm really impressed with that Long Ranger would be a major understatement .... others will no doubt post target pictures .... these guys can shoot .... hot and humid during the two hours we spent shooting .... didn't realize how much it took out of me until I got back to the camper, took a shower and sat down ... side note, I was impressed by Evan's mule (shown below) .... I'm going to have to get serious about finding one .... tonight we went out to eat at Islamorada Fish Company at the KC Bass Pro .... pictures below show my order tonight, french fries, covered with pulled pork BBQ, cheese, KC BBQ Sauce and spring onions ---- yep, I'd order it again .. .. also, the last picture in response in response to comments that our group didn't seem to be smiling

we did notice the 20 plus ladies at the next table couldn't seem to take their eyes off of us

I do want to thank Evan for hosting this gathering along with Jim and Bob .... I've had a ball .... the best part is always getting to meet folks in person who you've come to know on line .... my wife and I feel we have been blessed by making three new friends .... we hope this is the first of many other such gathering in KC and other parts of the country

Jim, I had sure hoped for a Fall gathering in our neck of the woods. Maybe still possible when you get home. I've had a medically trying season though. Not a good summer. Would be nice though if it could all come together.

Ditto Jim. I hope we inspire some of you to get out and hang with the weirdos. Not us of course. We are the normal guys.

The shooting was impressive, the fun contagious, and the food was excellent. Thanks guys.

Evan can now take off his Jimmy Buffet disguise and go back underground.

we are due to be back in Asheville next Tuesday and head home on Thursday .... will you guys be around
