OK .... can assure you smiles were plentiful .... as were the stories that caused them .. .. really enjoyed meeting Evan, Jim and Bob in person .... the Trap shooting went well and the handgun range was plain old fun .... shaking hands with Bob's Russian, Evans' 357 & 45. and Jim's 32 was really nice .... enjoyed seeing Evans' Henry Single shot 20 ga .... only Henry single shot I've ever seen/handled ... nice little rig, Evan was very consistent with it shooting Trap .... rifle range tomorrow followed by a cookout at our camper .... should be a fun day

By "consistent," he means I failed to hit one bird with my 20 Single Shot Turkey gun. And, as Cofisher pointed out immediately, it does not fit me, as it appears to have about an 11.5" LOP in my freakishly long arms, and, as we know, "FIT" in a trap gun is everything. I plan to take said Turkey Gun to my trap class and confirm that it should never to the trap range ever again. I offered to sell it to Cofisher on the spot, but the jury is still out on that transaction.
I had much (okay, a little) better luck with the Win 101, however. It is definitely NOT a turkey gun.
Tomorrow promises more heckling at the rifle range.
And better pictures.

Nice to see all your mugs together, and reading that you all are having a good time!

You guys are all crazy. Here you go. The authorities have granted dispensation. Great time today. Pistols, trap. Someone else can chime in on how many rounds we went through, but I"m guessing a few hundred. Nice BBQ dinner, too. JEBar, E-Squared, Cofisher and PT7.

I might add that ESquared is THE organizer, planner, loudest laugher (I believe), and a "host with the most."

He is the fellow that suggested and started the sub-forum for get-togethers. It's a great idea, and Evan keeps us in line and meeting on time!

Kudos and appreciation. :D

Glad you guys had a great time. Pics from tomorrow will be interesting now that Evan has finally broke thru with his pic on the forum. I will be curious to see how Evans Single shots do.

Thanks for the kind words, PT. The two key concepts are Communication and Flexibility in things like this. It's impossible to over-communicate and staying flexible is a must.

And, it's a great start to this kind of activity; not many cats to herd, lots of upfront and ongoing communication, lots of willingness on everyone's part to pitch in and keep things moving. Hard to say if this is "starting small" or not. Other gatherings may or may not get much larger, but that's okay, too.

Hopefully this get-together will pave the way for others around the territory. If anyone is thinking about trying to organize one and needs some tips or just a pep talk, just let me know!
