Planning a Gathering In/Around KC in August
Re: Planning a Gathering In/Around KC in August
I'll pass my phone around plenty and be the archivist of the photos, so if you see something/someone worth snapping (notice I didn't say "shooting") a pic of, come harangue me.
I've found that pictures of someone shooting at a range are some of the most boring in the world, unless the range is in the Rockies or something.
We'll be more photogenic by dinnertime, I'd wager...

Nice camo cart....should be much easier to load/unload than your previous set up. Great choice, Evan.
I just realized how much less stuff I need to carry as I've pared down my gun cabinet to only revolvers. What I'll carry to Lake City this week is my Russian revolver and ammo, all needed tools, ear protection, etc., in a Stanley "FatMax" nylon tool case. It measures 14" X 8" X 8", and has some side pockets for little items. That surprisingly is it!
Will also bring an extra large StackOn tool box, somewhat larger than a large ammo can. That's my gun cabinet for 5 handguns. Bringing the second Russian and Trapper BP Pistol in that to "show off."
Since I have two carry-alongs this range trip, maybe one of them can hitch a ride in the Camo Cruiser!
PT7
P.S.
Hey, hey! Just got an email that the Blanket Pistol Cover I ordered from October Country is shipped. Will have to see, if it makes it here in time to wrap the Trapper BP Pistol in it for carrying to the range. It's a similar case to the one RR just got for his revolver. Hard to find a pistol case that will handle a 10" barrel, but this one will be very cool to have.

So, fine day with the guys at the range. I had to sign a NDA to hang with Evan. Witness Protection has rules. Al, yeah, no pics. Lol.
Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.
Re: Planning a Gathering In/Around KC in August
That's ok CoFisher. I know Jim will overcome those rules and there will be pics.

But, I wouldn't bet that an identifiable photo of Evan will be posted here; however, I've been known to be wrong more than once. We''ll see.
I just hope they all enjoy themselves. What a great time it should be.

You guys are all crazy. Here you go. The authorities have granted dispensation. Great time today. Pistols, trap. Someone else can chime in on how many rounds we went through, but I"m guessing a few hundred. Nice BBQ dinner, too. JEBar, E-Squared, Cofisher and PT7.

It was pictures under duress, I think. And I'm not really that bald. Bad lighting. I guess. Geez, I need a hat!

By "consistent," he means I failed to hit one bird with my 20 Single Shot Turkey gun. And, as Cofisher pointed out immediately, it does not fit me, as it appears to have about an 11.5" LOP in my freakishly long arms, and, as we know, "FIT" in a trap gun is everything. I plan to take said Turkey Gun to my trap class and confirm that it should never to the trap range ever again. I offered to sell it to Cofisher on the spot, but the jury is still out on that transaction.
I had much (okay, a little) better luck with the Win 101, however. It is definitely NOT a turkey gun.
Tomorrow promises more heckling at the rifle range.
And better pictures.

So how come no Orange and Pink HRF table napkins? Those brown ones don't cut it.
Nice to see all your mugs together, and reading that you all are having a good time!

I might add that ESquared is THE organizer, planner, loudest laugher (I believe), and a "host with the most."
He is the fellow that suggested and started the sub-forum for get-togethers. It's a great idea, and Evan keeps us in line and meeting on time!
Kudos and appreciation.

Re: Planning a Gathering In/Around KC in August
Thanks for the kind words, PT. The two key concepts are Communication and Flexibility in things like this. It's impossible to over-communicate and staying flexible is a must.
And, it's a great start to this kind of activity; not many cats to herd, lots of upfront and ongoing communication, lots of willingness on everyone's part to pitch in and keep things moving. Hard to say if this is "starting small" or not. Other gatherings may or may not get much larger, but that's okay, too.
Hopefully this get-together will pave the way for others around the territory. If anyone is thinking about trying to organize one and needs some tips or just a pep talk, just let me know!
