He he he. Just accidentally won the bid...
He he he... just won the bid on gunbroker for savage model 72. A single shot 22. Made by savage in tge 70s and 80s patterned off an old stevens falling block. Odd little rifle that should be fun. Octagon barrel, walnut stock, color case hardened reciever, lever activated falling block. Just odd enough I needed it.....

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Cool gun... I have some concerns the hammer block is loose.( it flops some,) anyone here have one so that you can tell me how half cock safety postion should look and how hammer block should lay in there? Thanks!
It shoots fine and ejects fine, just concerned when I see an internal with play in it.

Sounds like it might need some action pins that fit a little tighter. By the way those old rifles are swinging blocks and not falling blocks. That is modeled after the Stevens 44 action and was good for black powder centerfire ammo and rimfire cartridges but did not hold up well for smokeless centerfire rounds. Stevens found this out when they made the Walnut Hill rifle on the 44 action for the .22 Hornet and they soon began to shoot loose.
