A trip to Wally World

Post by Sir Henry » Wed Feb 26, 2025 8:00 am

I needed a few groceries then stopped by the sporting goods. I like to stockpile ammo and although I usually don’t post about it I will pick up ammo once a month.

Seems to have been a productive trip.

Our's never has ammo... But then we rarely stop in. Most of the staff skipped customer service day during training, and missed out on the "treat others as you would like to be treated" sermon at church.

I'll check the local gun shop now and then, they are starting to get the common calibers in...
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can't do anymore with regret, I just look forward to the things I still can.

Three bricks, nice score. Not to long ago, that would have been monumental.
What do you shoot the shorts through?

Mostly my Mare’s Legs. I’m hesitant to shoot them in long barreled rifles.

Nice score, Gene.
Ours usually has a good stock of rimfire and rifle caliber ammo.

Thanks Randy. Now that you mention it I don’t remember seeing any pistol calibers.

I've shot the CB Long ammo in a couple different .22s, and was pretty impressed. It shot to the same point of impact at 25 yards through my Smith 41. I shot a slow fire target, 10 shots, and scored right at what I usually shoot with the CCI SV ammo. It didn't cycle the slide, and I had to manually cycle it for every shot, but they put holes right where the dot was.
Also shot the CB Longs from two different rifles, not enough of a difference to matter at 50 feet and 25 yards, which were the ranges I've used them on paper.
They make for an exceedingly quiet round when shooting from a rifle, and are very effective for backyard pests when noise is to be avoided.

This was in the news a few years ago. Except for shot gun, they no longer sell large caliber guns and ammo.

Well, 5 or so years ago WW made an executive decision to stop selling handgun ammo and the 223 scary black rifle ammo after one of the mass shootings.
We have 2 WW's here in town, the one out south doesn't seem firearms at all and the one out north does.
