WOW and that supposed to be a deal for 20 rounds! Stuff no good and doesn't expand at revolver speeds. https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_inf ... sczs091123

Forty, at this point in time, I'm sure glad I took up reloading some years back.
I have dies and components for All the cf stuff I own.

Back in Feb. I was in one of the shops I visit that carries loading supplies and usually has a good selection of ammo.
He will have ammo that most people won't carry, any way I saw a box of Cowboy loads for the 45 colt, box of 50 was $72.99
Also had some cast 357 that were listed at $49.99 for a box of 50.

Wow Forty, that's a lot.
Vaquero, I have seen the same type of prices on the .45 LC that I saw. Cowboy loads too.

Lordy, those prices are insane. Don't have a 9mm, but do have three .45 Colt, one .38spl/.357 and a .45acp. I do handload for those.
Like Randy, I have all the components I need to load whatever I have. Those factory loaded prices are nuts.

45 Colt 44 Mag 41 Mag 357 and 38 special are all no brainers to me. I see 35.00 a box all the way up to 75.00 plus a box for any of the mentioned calibers. Reloading for those is the only way to go.

Fortunately, it's doesn't hurt too bad for some, (like me), who don't shoot/hunt, nearly as much as others.
Yes though, prices ARE way too high.

Just got my box of 50 HSM Cowboy 44-40 ammo in this morning. It looks good and the price with FedEx shipping and tax $93 bucks. Well you have to start somewhere shooting a new hard to find caliber and to generate some brass which was Starline. Should be good for a few reloads and if and when Starline starts making it again I will buy some.
Now just awaiting for the local Cabelas to call letting me know the 1892 has arrived. A quick range shoot after cleaning the bore and hopefully it cycles and shoots well enough.

Well, speaking of 45 colts, I stumbled across these today.
That put a smile on my face.

I was able to get 100 brass cases last week. Also seeing 45 colt factory ammo actually on the shelf. Recently, various brands on sale in the $30s for 50 rounds.

That's a fun powder in .45 Colt. Got that idea from forty. What's your load going to be?

I usually stay around 6.0 to 6.5grs. with the 200 to 250 gr pills.
Works well in both rifles and the 2 Rugers, that Cimarron shoots a Unique load better, but
isn't terrible with the red dot.

Yes, $30 for 50 isn't bad at all.
The best price I saw in 4 stores today for 45 colt was $52.99 for 50 200gr Cowboy loads. Nope.

I paid $100 out the door for the 2 lbs. I bought today.
If I use one pound for strictly 45's and say at 6.5 grs., that's around 1,076 loads, or 0.046 cents per round.
And even if I was using .10 cent primers, which I'm not. ;)
And cast bullets at what .15 .16 cents.
I'll just keep stuffing my own. ;)

Sales prices of several brands was in $30s (plural). Lowest was $33.99, about what I was paying regular price pre-covid. The cheapest seen lately, not on sale, $43.99.
I didn't purchase any, on sale or not. Instead I bought a 100pc bag of 45 colt brass.
