I must like handloading, been doing it since '77-'78 for every rifle and hangun except the rimfires. It gives me relaxation and I simply enjoy it. Not to mention I have plenty of loaded ammo on hand. I have have never bought factory .45 Colt or .357. Those prices for .45 Colt are insane. Just bought another bag[100 pcs.] of Starline Colt brass. Indeed, more to load!

I got a notification from Midway that Starline .45 Colt brass was in stock. A couple hours later I went to order and POOF...gone. You probably got the last bag!

Well, earlier today I loaded 48 rounds of 45 colt.
Some 200gr rfn over 6.0 grs of Trail boss.
The powder has been here for a good number of years and I don't remember what it cost at the time.
So I guessing, but betting it is around .04 cents per round, then a .035 cent primer, and the bullets were say .05-.07 cents a piece.
So I'll round it off to say on the high side 0.15 cents a piece, or $7.20 for the 48 rounds.
And they all went bang a short while ago.

Got me beat. From powder, primer and bullets bought 2 years ago, costs me about $0.26/rnd (or about $12.48 for 48).
I used Berry's copper plated bullets at $0.19 each.

Still not bad Mags.
These bullets are the end of a large purchase a few yrs ago.
I still have a few hundred of these 200gr., though.
Mostly shoot 250's & 255's, I think the last batch cost me .14 or .15 cents, not sure.
Have a Lee 255 gr mold I need to try out, then we are talking pennies a piece,

I cast almost all of the cast bullets that I shoot including some full wadcutters for my Colt Police Positive .32 S&W long caliber. Over the years I have been able to acquire a lot of pure lead and plenty of lynotype to make my own # 2 alloy, that and a Lyman 450 sizer greatly reduces the cost of shooting.
