Hi guys. I scored some 45-70 today. 5 boxes for $130. Not great but better than $3 to $4 a round it’s been selling for around here.
Anyway, 3 boxes are some kinda old Remington 405gr rounds. They are fairly, but not badly, tarnished. Two questions:
1. Can they be cleaned easily and safely?
2. Should I even worry about cleaning them up? Again, they aren’t so tarnished I’m afraid to put them in my rifle, I don’t think. Should I be worried?????
Primers on all look fine. Bullets are cast lead so they are what they are. The other two boxes are new lever revolution 325gr.
What say the experts? Clean them or leave them be?
Spring has sprung. Get out and shoot your Henry

Re: Tarnished ammo
personally, I'd do no more than it would take to ensure they chamber easily .... as one who reloads, after firing them I'd worry about cleaning up the brass
