Politics? What? Thursday I purchased 2 x’s 325 each of Federal 22 rimfire averaging .06/rnd and saw 1,000 223 for $464.

After the SCOTUS leak? Cheapest today was .12 for 22 and $640/1,000 on 223. It’s all political unfortunately.
Just to be clear, Politico published the leaked ruling on Monday.

I get it, the wind changes from north to south seems to make fuel and ammo go up. The Federal 22 was on the shelf at Walmart, paid around $20 for 30-30. Saw Lucky Gunner had 223 for $500/1,000. Changes daily.

Yes. Currently, our economy seems to be in a tailspin. But, it should recover. Lesson learned: buy when the buying is good to weather the storms. This too will pass.

Somebody must have woke up....I see the primers are disappearing at the local hardware store. I stocked up last couple of years so good for quite some time.

Did a bit of a stock take on my primers yesterday, could do with a few more only 3k of small pistol although I do have around 4k 38spl/357, 3k 9mm and 1k 32swl/32H&R/327 loaded. Only 500 small rifle left. 222 is the only thing I load with them although if I get caught I do use them in 357 and 327 rifle loads. Over 2k of large pistol so plenty considering they are only used in 44mag, 2k large rifle but a similar amount of ammo loaded so enough for a while. 1200 shotgun primers, have only loaded 410 in the last 20 years so more than enough of them.
Need to check my projectile stocks, I have molds for everything but 6 & 6.5mm so no trouble keeping shooting but my jacketed supplies are low.
About 30lb of powder I need to go through, lots of nearly full tubs I tried that didnt deliver the results I was after that I should probably sell while demand is high or trade for what I use.

My neighbor who is a very casual gun owner called me a few days ago asking where he could buy some CCI small pistol primers. Apparently his brother is coming here from Oregon to help him rebuild an engine and my neighbor wants to give him a couple thousand primers as a thank you. I told him to forget it but he didn’t believe me and made many calls to dealers around the area. Called me last night and wants to open a primer factory. I guess he got the message.

220, I'd say you're in pretty good shape. Only thing I seem to run a bit low on are cast bullets, but, those are easy to get nowadays.

I have a fair amount of all the primers. But the cost and shortage has really taken me out of the mood to reload. I have as much fun with a 22 or 22 mag as I do with 357 and beyond. At a dime apiece for primers and that or more for the bullet it puts the cost right at 22 mag ammo. Walmart has the 125 paks of 22 mag for 27.00 not to bad.

I agree Al, I have enough components to last a pretty good while, but I don't want to burn them all up.
I still want to work on some loads for the Creedmoor, and have plenty of all the necessaries, but will probably just wait till closer to Fall to worry with.
Been buying up the 22 lr stuff, heck even at .10 cents a round it's still a ton cheaper than loading most.
Even though I have .04 cent or cheaper primers, and cast bullets of mine own at a nickel or less a piece.
Not sure what it'll cost to replace.
Heck Summer is coming on and I can occupy my time with scooter riding, fishing and some tinkering with the ole hot rod, for a spell. ;)

Yup local Walmart has 22 ammo with a 3 box limit. Ive bought 6 boxes so far but I will buy more when I go again. 21.60 a box makes it about 6 cents a round

All this could be why there is so much propaganda right now about .22 for self defense. Bought some "Federal Punch" recently which is labeled as a self defense load.
