Going thru some of my old ammo and found some first design Mark 1Z British 9mm ammo from 1943.

Also have some Fin reboxed Russian 7.63 ammo from the 40's

Wow, very interesting! Same dimensions as current-day 9mil? Still "shootable"?

Well this is the early ammo that used a nitro cellulose type powder and was slightly less powerful and would not function in the Sten 9mm machine gun.
I believe for pistol use only. Now don't know about what type primer was used....corrosive or not.
It should fire as it appears from boxes to have been dry all these years.
A friend of mine had a bunch of military ammo.... 45 ACP .30 carbine and such from his father's collection in a ammo container and sold it to me.

I don't own a 9mm gun though.

There's only only one thing left to do and that's get a 9mm

Seems like a WW II Museum somewhere would be interested in it, but maybe not. Like most things in the collector world, it's about supply and demand. Still fascinating.
