I see now on AmmoSeek there is about 4 pages of 9mm ammo for sale. The prices arent real good at around .60 a round but at least there is some ammo coming back.

I made the tour of my usual ammo haunts over the weekend. ALL shelves were empty. Zero. Same for reloading components, bullets, powder, primers.

Last Friday and again today I waited in line at the local Academy store. On Friday they received a large shipment and they still had 3 boxes of what I wanted, .38 special, to get some rounds through my new SS. Guys were leaving with bricks of .223 and just in front of me( I was about50-60 back from the front) a guy got his brick? of 7.62x39. Today I got two more boxes of .38 and a box of 325 Automatch. They get, or are supposed to get, ammo in on m-w-f. Maybe this means things are loosening up.

Did an inventory of my stuff, all good for quite some time on cartridge and black powder supplies. Plus still have lots of factory ammo so a steady supply of brass for reloading.

My LGS shelves look like when they were getting the shop set up before they put any thing on the shelves. Never seen that shop so empty of guns in stock and so little ammo and reloading components. They tried to buy 22 LR ammo from me. I don't have enough to be selling any except to a friend that may be out of ammo. I will do my what I can to help friends have some to shoot but will have to draw the line some where if things don't get better.

Academy seems like the place to go. The closed one is a few hours from me though.

We have one north of town, about 35 mins. from the house.
Last time I was there 3 maybe 4 weeks ago now,
they had nada.

I did the same as RR, but after Clinton's gun ban. When things went back to normal, I stocked up on supplies. Buyin' cheap and stackin' them deep! I reload all my ammo. I don't trust factory supplies. I did stock up on .22s and shotgun ammo. I knew that I couldn't reload shotgun cheaper than store bought. I would wait to season-end sales and empty Wally's shelves for the gauges that I had. I'm that I have enough for a life time supply for me, my kids,my grand kids, and their kids!

Sorry, Hatchdog. I have 7 grand kids and if they are as prolific as their parents, I may have to rethink my supplies. If I get an opening, I'll give you a shot!

How Bizarre... Most LGS don't have much of most things that I would like to have, but one shoppe had plenty of everything, plus guns, guns, guns on all the walls. So...what shortage? I picked up 100 rds of CCI .22 Mag for my Remmie 597 which now works great since I put in a Volquartsen Extractor and bought some original black plastic magazines. The metal ones never worked well.
With new request for "new common sense gun laws" the stocking of shelves for ammo may be short lived. So stock up while you can.

Cabelas in Calgary seemed to be well stocked with ammo on the shelves. Although I did not look very closely, perhaps the popular stuff was low or gone. Their reloading powders were not bad, black powder only 3F and 4F in stock. Not much for primers either. I bought the last box of .495 lead balls, .490 was out of stock. The gun counter was very busy though, one guy was in the market for a revolver and had some Rugers on the counter. Lots of customers discussing rifles.

Yesterday I traded 150 once shot .308 cases[R-P] for a brick of Win LPP's. I am set! Didn't need the .308 cases and the primers will keep me supplied for a long time.
Not trying to go political here, but, RR, how are things regarding handguns up there?

The feds are trying to pass a Bill to allow cities and town municipalities to ban handguns if they want to. Alberta govt says it’s unconstitutional and the province decides what the municipalities can or can’t do.

Make no mistake, they are coming for all of our guns, same as your new govt.

To state the obvious, why would a government want to take its law abiding citizens firearms?
