Re: Ammo supply good in your ‘hood?
I seen .357 FMJ and SWC on the floor. When I ask the clerk to check in the back for .38 Special +P, he said that he did not see any. But, asked if I had tried a lighter grained .357 that the felt recoil may be less. I said that I had been shooting .357 158 grains, when I did shoot .357s in it. Then, he went and got some Hornady 130 grains. I think that it was about $25 or so. I thought about. But, I have a few boxes of Hornary. Plus, I would like for my wife to try a few practice rounds, before loading with .357 130 grains. I am thinking that the felt recoil will not be that much of a difference, if any. Yet, I may give it a try.

Re: Ammo supply good in your ‘hood?
Well it was a rainy day and not a lot to do, so I stopped by the local Academy store.
Pretty decent stock and had an end shelf full of shotgun shells, 12, 20, & 28 ga.
No 410's.
Then I stopped at one of the WW's.
I did get the max amount of boxes at each stop, all 22's today.
4 at Academy and 3 at ww.

Ds, I've just been picking up the 22's, and mostly the standard vel., no CF stuff, I reload for ALL those that I own, and a couple more.
Those CCI standard are $4.83/50, the Aquila were $4.49/50, and the Stingers were the pricey ones,
but I want to try them so I bought 2 @ $9.99/50.

Probably the latter. I will not pay that price! If for two boxes...bring it on!

Re: Ammo supply good in your ‘hood?
That's a great price compared to what it was but kind of sad that we are saying $34 for a box of .357 is a great deal when before the shortage I would occasionally see it on sale locally for around $20 a box.JVogler wrote: ↑Fri Apr 15, 2022 6:08 pmThat was for two boxes of 50 rounds each.markiver54 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 14, 2022 9:30 pmProbably the latter. Re: Ammo supply good in your ‘hood?
Yeah, it’s pretty amazing how our expectations have changed. I get a kick out of some items I see for sale on our local trader page. For instance yesterday a guy listed a box of .410 AA target loads for $20 that had the original price of $6.99 written in it.dave77 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 16, 2022 12:09 amThat's a great price compared to what it was but kind of sad that we are saying $34 for a box of .357 is a great deal when before the shortage I would occasionally see it on sale locally for around $20 a box.JVogler wrote: ↑Fri Apr 15, 2022 6:08 pmThat was for two boxes of 50 rounds each.markiver54 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 14, 2022 9:30 pm

Re: Ammo supply good in your ‘hood?
I was at the Club's gun range today, watching young people shoot AR-15s. The smell of gun smoke made me think about shooting. So, I stopped at the LGS today. Found some Remington 38 Special +P 158 grain LHP @ $1.10 a round, which is more than I wanted to pay. Yet, the clerk did find some, based on my inquiry (I assume). Therefore, I picked up a couple of boxes, 20 rounds each and said thanks. While I was there, I picked up a box of 38 Special FMJ TulAmmo with 50 rounds @ $30; I have not seen or shot any before. But, I thought that I would try a box. From what I have read, they seem to be loaded a little hot for a 38 Special. I did see some .357 @ $38 for a box of 50; I don't recall the brand. I was not looking for any. However, it nice to know that a few boxes are available. For the most part, it was a good day.

Re: Ammo supply good in your ‘hood?
Went to the range on Friday. Two box range use limit and one out the door, total 3 boxes of 357 magnum Federal jsp 158 grain $101.00
Re: Ammo supply good in your ‘hood?
After dropping off Sir Henry i came to my daughters house in Naches Wash. We went to the local gun range and Ace Hardware store. I didnt see any primers but the powder and ammo supply was amazing. Ive not seen this much powder anywhere for a while. Its not very cheap at 45 to 50.00 a Lb but they had a good supply. The ammo they had was also not cheap but there was a good assortment
