getting ready for our May trip out west, we decided that we needed to purchase a new shop-vac .... it will be used on our camper and vehicles .... it will be stored in our camper where it will be with us as we travel ..... after considerable looking we decided on a 20V cordless Bauer 3.5 gallon purchased from Harbor Freight .... https://www.harborfreight.com/20v-cordl ... 58310.html .... a part of the deal we got a free cordless blower that uses the same battery .... after using it to thoroughly vacuum her Blazer Maureen impressions :

Positives :
-strong suction
-easy to manipulate
-reasonably quiet

Negatives :
-a longer hose would be nice
-its fairly expensive replaceable HEPA filter ... https://www.harborfreight.com/replaceme ... 70075.html ... doesn't have come with an easily washable cover

I couldn't locate a washable cover so as can be seen below, I adapted one from our other shop-vac and attached it will Zip Ties ..... so far, so good

These things are indispensable. Don't know how we got along so much time without them. I've used several shop vaks over the years and find that the small portable units will do most anything you need.

today I put our new Bauer small shop vac through its paces for the first time .... I did so while vacuuming about a third of the floor of our camper's largest storage compartment .... it has literally been years since I have pulled all everything our and thoroughly vacuumed in there .... I knew the area was in need of a serious vacuuming; none the less, I was unpleasantly surprised at the volume of stuff that ended up in the vac .... lessons learned from this first use:

the 20V 5ah battery provides plenty of power to create a strong pull

its motor is by no means silent but it is much quieter than my 110 powered small shop vac

it cleans up easily, the foam cover mentioned above works like a charm

Glad to hear that Jim. The hepa filter is a nice touch.
