That's a real nice addition Gene. Great piece of mind to protect that beautiful motor home. Hope it's rated for all that snow.
It’s rated for 90 pounds a square foot. To meet code I only needed 60. It will also take 120 mph wind which is more important.
It’s 99% complete. They were four pieces of trim short and will install them Thursday. A long way to drive for a ten minute job but a short drive to get paid the remaining 75%.

The pad wasn’t completely level and they had to shim one corner.

I’ll take the gravel from an opposite corner. They did a great job working with a pad that was not level.

I have 17 yards of 1 to 2 cubic foot rock coming so I can make a better edge to stop erosion.

A telephoto view from the road.

And a view from my front deck. The gray post is an electrical panel so I have power nearby.

Looks great. The only thing you "may" want to consider is complete Sides. I had a 20 X 21 built back in '04 and before they left, I was pretty convinced that I wanted Sides and Gables. I went out the next day to check out the shade of it and it was off in the woods somewhere. No shade at all on the inside. They came back a week or two later and installed both. Although the front and back are still open, it made a big difference. Of course, it also helps keep out the rain and snow. But, depending on your wind direction may make a difference. The wind goes directly from the front to back on mine. The partial sides you do have will help though.

One more reminder, but I'm sure you have that already covered. Put Stop Blocks behind your Rear Wheels to prevent you from backing up too far.

I leveled the gravel enough to back the RV into it. I’ll need to pull it out at some point to make it more level and to wash the gravel off.
It took me several tries to get it the perfect distance from the side. The slide when out is about two inches from the wall.

The door side of the RV has about five feet to the wall. Enough that I can store stuff and get to the basement.

I’m hoping to landscape it next spring. I still have the power line and propane to connect.

The wind will mostly be from the back and driver side. I expect some snow to enter. It’s the roof that I want to protect the most. With open sides I can enjoy the view where it’s at. This is going to be a guest bedroom.

It has a backup camera plus I’m not afraid to get out and look a few times. I think I got out a dozen times and measured.

I hope I am wrong but it looks to me like you will be collecting snow. Perhaps some rolling panels like a barn door that you could open up when you wanted the view would work. I like the looks of it and had planned on getting a carport until I got to pricing all the additions like the snow load bearing I need and I think I can stick build one for the same price if I hurry before lumber goes up again.

Undoubtedly it will collect some snow which will be part of the winter charm. The important thing is no snow will reach the roof to melt and freeze. Also it will be getting less direct sun.

I think that new Ford van might be jealous now because he doesn’t have a house

Next year. I may order some fill this fall and level it so it has a winter to settle.
