I’m not rich and I’m not poor. Like most of us here I’m retired middle class. Since my IRA went through the roof for the last two years I think the best thing I can do with it is to help stimulate the economy.

It comes at a good time because I want to replace 34 year old kitchen appliances, double wall oven, drop-in range , hood vent, refrigerator and dish washer. I’m decided to go with the LG brand. Made in the USA.

Right now selection is low with few choices. That is about to change as the factory fired up again about a month ago. Covid19 shut them down for about nine months.

A new air rifle (or two) is also in the plans.

Didn’t know LG was made in the US, thanks for pointing that out.

Good on you for getting out there and stimulating the economy. Looks like a win win to me. Looking forward to the pictures.

I ordered granite tops for my counters. I picked out two slabs and they showed me how they would be cut. This is a truer picture of the color. This is a picture of his screen an even thought the granite is called red dragon it’s not really red.

I ended up not getting this slab because I was not ready to take immediate delivery. The reason I mention this is because I sold my old refrigerator today and all new appliances will be delivered on Tuesday.

In the meantime I’ll be cooking in the outdoor kitchen during 40 degree weather. Cooking and eating outside for about two weeks while I install the new built in wall oven, range top and dishwasher. Then comes the fun part of installing granite countertops.

Gene, when we replaced our kitchen e.i. total tear-out from foundation to cabinets, tile, windows and granite counter tops) the six different outfits always included the installation. I don't know your skills, but when it comes to granite, they break it, they pay. If you break it, you pay. Just saying.

I’ll only be installing the appliances and doing the tear-out. No way do I have the equipment or muscle to install the granite. They will sit the sink in position and I do all the pumping.

I got up early to get a Mercury Latte. Now I sit and wait for the new appliances to be delivered today. If you think under the refrigerator and dishwasher was dirty you should have seen under the washer and dryer.

Did you send back the washer dryer combo Gene or vent it to the outside

I gave it the required clearances and re-routed the hoses out of the vents way and that eliminated about 90% of the problem. I still haven’t gone into the attic to hook up the ceiling fan vent so that should take care of the last 10% when I finally get that done.

A million things to do on two item a day list. And shooting is one of the things on the list. I’ve been plinking for ten minutes a day almost everyday.

It’s not like I’m going to get fired from my job!

Seriously the only way I can afford this and buy air guns is to do the work myself. After 34 years the place needs it. So much didn’t fully work and at 71 years old I’m thinking I have the lifetime warranty!

Everything arrived today but the refrigerator was dented and I refused to accept it. The oven is installed but needs to be raised three inches. The dishwasher is in also and is running it’s first cycle right now. I’m giving up for the day and will start fresh in the morning installing the hood. I’m thinking it’s a full day job that might turn into three. I have a good retirement union.

Is that a double oven or an oven with a micorwave? Nice looking appliances!

Oven/microwave combination. I thought of going to two ovens but then I would have to learn to two meals at once. One is hard enough.

Maybe you could get some in home cooking lessons Gene. Looks good. Are you going to create a gap at the bottom when you raise the oven or is there a panel that fits the gap.

I finally finished the oven install today and left it open on the bottom. The broiler pan and a couple cookie sheets are under there now.

Looks good Gene now when does the cooking class lady get there
