Weaver type base for Henry BB

Have a new Big Boy 357 and want to put a red dot on this one. A short Weaver style base that would fit the rear two holes is what I would prefer. But would settle for one that fit all three holes would be acceptable. I have the Henry base but it sets the red dot higher than it needs to be. Thanks

Look at the Weaver 63B. It may do what you want.

I don't think it will, but I could be wrong. The 63B is the correct base for my Henry 45-70, but it's not listed for the Big Boy rifles. It's worth checking, but I don't think it will fit. Please report back on what you find out.

How much lower does it need to go? Could the bottom of the base be machined down? I would assume the minimum height would have to be the thickness of the Weaver grip area plus the absolute minimum depth of the mounting screw counterbore and thickness of resutling material under screwhead.

I think I have found something that is acceptable. The Cycvis red dot mounts very low to the centerline of the dot. I already have the Big Boy mount that Henry sells so I'll just cut down the total length of that base and just use the back section that uses the two screws, repaint the base and install.
I found a weaver base in my parts drawer and it's not that much thinner than the Henry mount. Thanks for the comments.
