Well had to have a hang spot for the new .45 Colt Carbine so I found one more walnut display board and hung it below the other one...just enough space!
Also put couple extra pegs up to display a matching SA combo revolver.
Top is the CCH .45 Colt Carbine along with my Ruger New Vaquero .45 Colt. Bottom is the .44 Mag Carbine along with my Ruger SBH .44 Mag.

Think I'm good on rifles now!

I really like the rough cut lumber plank by caliber. Neat idea. Frames each of them, but it also looks great as a series. Nice work.

Thanks. That walnut lumber came from a tree that had fallen on my uncle's farm back in mid 70's. My Dad had the tree sent to a sawmill
and had a good amount of boards make from it. He made a bed and couple small tables out of some of it and I got several pieces of it
and stored it for years. They do make nice rifle wall displays.

Nice work Forty. Id never feel safe displaying them here. I guess Im paranoid of some one getting in here and stealing them when I wasnt home.

nicely displayed collection .... I'd enjoy being able to have such a display but for us that isn't in the cards

Really nice display. Not in the cards here in Canada though. The handguns are stored illegally need to be locked away and the lever guns are stored illegally - must be disabled - commonly with a trigger lock. Bolt actions just take the bolt out store it elsewhere.

I do have a question - how do you like the short 16.5 in barrels? I'm thinking to get a 30-30 Marlin with a short barrel. Basically the 336c not youth but better wood and blued otherwise the same. I don't have a 30-30.

Love the handiness of the 16.5 inch barrel rifles. Both the .44 and .45 shoot really well after I added my touch to the rear sights.
If not at home for an extended time I do lock them away plus other security measures.

Incase of a night emergency how long does it take you to have a ready gun?

Hey All,

Night emergency the bathroom isn't far away!! LOL

My wife and I have been married for 30 years and have never locked our doors unless away on a trip or some such. I don't spend my time being ready for something that has never happened where I have lived. The dog is a good deterrent. In fact I am glad the doors were unlocked one time when around 3AM our son came in the bedroom saying there is a strange man in the living room. Turns out he was a 20 something drunk and or high who had walked through snow for a mile and a quarter or so barefoot in 35 below zero weather. He made it to our house came inside fell on floor moaning in pain. We called the RCMP and they knew him and took him to the hospital for frostbite. I would far rather that than find a dead body outside my house the next morning. I have no regrets. I refuse to live my life in fear of bogey men. I don't know how fast I could get to a gun. Maybe should time it sometime. Wouldn't take very long though.
